Gallus Update - September 2014

We’re really pleased to be invited back to play at Langdale Charity Folk Festival in May 2015.   Langdale is a brilliant weekend of great music in a really beautiful part of the country.  Can’t wait!!

We’ve been getting our fingers out and trying to get our first CD finished.  Watch this space..

Back in June we had an enjoyable day recording some songs at The Rec Room in Edinburgh.  You can hear the results on our ReverbNation page.

We’re not terribly great at keeping this website up-to-date, so if you want to know what the band is up to (including when we have gigs) check out our Facebook page.

Festive period gigs

Really enjoyed our gig/session at The Captain’s Bar on Saturday 28th December - great to finish 2013 on a high note! Many thanks to everyone who came along and especially to the other musicians who joined us: Steven Kerr, Neil Hamilton, Stella Birrell, Derek Birrell, Eddy Hanson, Harry Sunderland, Andy and Chris and the three lads whose names I didn’t catch. See you again on 25th January!

We also played a nice wee afternoon gig at The Mason’s Arms aka Paddy’s on Sunday 5th January. Many thanks to everyone who came out to listen - much appreciated!  Thanks also to Colin at Paddy’s for having us :-)

New Crows Recordings

Hi Everyone - we’ve just posted 3 new recordings on our Reverbnation page. Recorded recently at Crow Central (Derek’s hoose) and featuring our 5th member Caitlin Andrew (Fiddly Crow) and our good friend Bruce Hogg on slide guitar. Look out for more recordings and an album in 2014.  Have a great New Year!

Festive Crows

Our last gig of 2013 is at The Captain’s bar on Saturday 28th December and our first gig of 2014 is at The Mason’s Arms (aka Paddy’s) in Loanhead on 5th January.  Full details on the “gigs” page.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year!

Captain’s November report

Another fun night was had at the Captains on 23rd November.

Thanks to our pals who came along to play with us: Bruce and Gill Hogg, Neil Hamilton, David Foggo and Eddy Hanson. Thanks too to the Irish lass from Dundee who played fiddle with us, to the egg shakers and to the rather tipsy lads from Nottingham who were up on a stag night and treated us to three of their rousing songs.  Turned out they are in a rather fine band called Captain Dangerous.  Finally, thanks as always to the lovely staff at Captains. See you next month!

Mayflower vids

Our pal Neil Hamilton filmed most of our set at The Mayflower on Saturday 16th.  These are now on youtube as a playlist.
